RFK Jr.’s Run for President
Now that Robert Francis Kennedy Junior officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign on Wednesday there exists a possibility the people of this country can correct the current descent into fascism and decline into an Orwellian dystopia of a “1984” slave society. The erosion of our right to free speech with the current censorship and propaganda promoted by the government and corporate-controlled media is the beginning of the end of all freedoms that Orwell so convincingly portrays in his futuristic novel.
In recent election scenarios there has been no real choice—no candidate who has challenged the system itself, a corrupt system, that has evolved into the government/corporate collusion we are experiencing. This is a system that fits the definition of fascism.
Kennedy has challenged this collusion in his elaborate declaration of intent—which includes his history of success as a lawyer in combating corrupt corporate practices that polluted the commons and affected the health of the environment and the people. His speech deserves the attention of each citizen—though It’s doubtful you’ll be able to find any serious discussion of it in the mainstream media.
Kennedy offers change toward a truly representative government…toward an actual functioning democracy. Imagine a US where there is a true balance of power between government and business, between the people and their government…where there is a healthy middle class, more equality of wealth and of opportunity. Imagine a nation that will experience great advances similar in impact to those made during FDR’s years in office: an end to war, improvement in the nations infrastructure, a healthy economy and opportunities for a better life with a government that benefits its citizens and not just its corporations and oligarchs.
In Kennedy’s words: “The US doesn’t have fair market capitalism but corporate crony capitalism, where the rules are written by billionaires and incumbents and large corporations, to stack the deck against the middle class,”
Americans deserve an administration that regulates the excesses of some economic players to allow a system of free enterprise manifesting prosperity for all—as.had existed in our nation during the ‘50s and ‘60’s.
It’s no mere coincidence that the wars and warmongering the US has been waging ever since that time, the funding for war and destabilization around the globe, the establishment and maintenance of over 800 military bases in foreign countries, the threats against China over its territory of Taiwan, the proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, all have contributed to the economic decline of our nation.
This economic decline includes neglected infrastructure resulting in health-damaging toxic spills caused by train derailments, dramatic increases in poverty and crime in our deteriorating cities, and bank failures threatening our economic stability.
There seems to be a direct correlation between the increase in spending for our so-called ‘defense’ budget and our rapidly declining economy. “War is a racket! “—as retired United States Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler had correctly stated in the 1930’s…And we citizens today are enabling the racketeers.
Kennedy offers, for the first time in many years, an opportunity to vote for a real choice in values for America—a choice for freedom and economic fairness, justice and peace.
